DUBLIN, Ireland: The Road Safety Authority (RSA) has confirmed fee increases for several of its services, including driving licenses and national car tests (NCTs), which will take effect on January 1, 2025.

According to the RSA, these adjustments are necessary to support its 18-million-euro budget for public interest initiatives and government priorities in the coming year. The revised fees include the following changes:

  • Driving licence: 55 to 65 euros
  • Learner permit: 35 to 45 euros
  • Full NCT test: 55 to 60 euros
  • NCT retest: 28 to 40 euros
  • Commercial vehicle roadworthiness test: 15 percent increase (pre-VAT cost)

The RSA highlighted that this is the first adjustment to these fees in over a decade, with some services remaining unchanged since 2011 or 2012.
