SHARJAH, 20th November, 2024 (WAM) -- The Legislative and Legal Affairs, Appeals, Suggestions and Complaints Committee of Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) discussed two draft laws, one related to the organisation of human resources for the military in the emirate, and the other on the reorganisation of the police and security force in Sharjah.
The draft law on human resources for the military was referred to the committee during the last meeting of the Consultative Council, while the draft law on the reorganisation of the police and security force was referred by the Public Utilities Committee of the Council.
The meeting was held this morning at the headquarters of SCC in Sharjah, headed by Mohammed Ali Al Hammadi, Chairman of the Legislative and Legal Affairs, Appeals, Suggestions and Complaints Committee. The meeting was attended by committee members: Mohammed Saleh Al Ali, Hamad Abdullah Al Riyami, Rashid Saleh Al Hammadi, and Obaid Ishaq Al Mazmi, in addition to the presence of members of the General Secretariat of the Council, Yousef Hassan Al Ali, the Council's Legal Advisor and Director of the Parliamentary Affairs Department, and Saif bin Suwaif Al Ketbi, Secretary.
During the meeting, the committee reviewed the texts and articles of the two laws, where the discussion focused on organising matters related to human resources for military personnel, in a way that achieves the public interest of those working in the military sector.
The committee also discussed the draft law to reorganize the police and security force, where it discussed the provisions related to developing systems and instructions and improving security performance in the emirate in line with Sharjah's future vision.
The committee expressed its opinion on the two draft laws, stressing the importance of strengthening the laws in line with the needs of the military and security sectors in Sharjah, and providing a legal framework that supports professional excellence and takes into account future challenges.
At the end of the meeting, the committee prepared its final report on the two draft laws in preparation for submitting it to SCC, and presenting it on the agenda of the next meeting.
